POSITION TITLE: Payroll Practitioner
LOCATION: Brenham, Texas (on site)
SUMMARY POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This is an entry level position geared towards the areas of payroll, human resources, and benefits.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work directly with the Payroll Supervisor on all functions of payroll
- Work with risk management concerning accident and workers compensation issues
- Onboarding of new employees and entering employee information
- Benefits enrollment
- Maintain and update personnel records
- Assist in resolving payroll issues as may arise during payroll processing preparations
- Plans, schedules and conducts employee required screenings
- Communicate and coordinate with other company locations for documentation requests
- Assist with project work for human resources as projects are identified
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system
- Relative working experience with teams and familiarity with human resources
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
- Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
